Hamas Atrocities

After the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023,  numerous stories circulated about the mind-bending atrocities committed, from burning babies alive and cutting fetuses from the womb — to rape, beheading,  and dismemberment.

There is no dispute that the attack was an act of war. The appropriate response was overwhelming force to eliminate the perpetrators.  It could not be simply proportionate punishment for a crime, as some have claimed. The perpetrators were a majority of the inhabitants of the armed camp called Gaza.

Nevertheless to preserve our own intellectual honesty, we need to know what really happened.

Standards of Verification

Is there forensic or photographic evidence? Yes. Do multiple independent sources (including Israeli investigators, NGOs, and international journalists) report the same details?  Yes. Did official Israeli agencies confirm or quietly stop repeating the the initial claims? Yes.

Here’s a chart that outlines what is now known.
